#FitFriday: How to Reduce Body Fat!

There is so much more to losing weight than losing pounds!

Ever wonder how two people could be the same weight but look completely different? It is because of their body mass index!

Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women.

There are multiple BMI categories:

  • Underweight = <18.5
  • Normal Weight = 18.5 – 24.9
  • Overweight = 25 – 29.9
  • Obesity = 30 or greater

For example, take Anowa Adjah she weighs 200 pounds!

How can her 200 pounds look different than your 200 pounds? Her body shows that she has worked for mostly muscle and little fat. Remember, five pounds of fat looks different than five pounds of muscle. Muscle is the goal, right? In weight loss, of course, we like to see the scale go down but we really should be focusing on reducing our body fat which will then, in turn, reduce the pounds.

Here Are 10 Tips to Reduce Your Body Fat!

  1. Reduce Sugar
  2. Consume Healthy Fats
  3. No White Carbohydrates
  4. Two-Three liters of water per day
  5. Manage Stress
  6. Increase Green Leafy Vegetables
  7. Eat Lean Protein
  8. Move Your Body. Lift Heavy.
  9. Fresh Lemon in Warm Water
  10. Love the Body you have while you’re working for the body you want!

On this journey, we must stop comparing ourselves to others because we all could be the same weight but look the complete opposite.
