Floacist’s “The Rise of The Phoenix Mermaid” Is Smoldering Hot!!!

Floacist, the amazing half of the former neo-soul duo, “Floetry” is back and better than ever! Her upcoming album “The Rise of The Phoenix Mermaid,” is not just her return to music, but the rebirth of her as an artist. Each of her songs ebb with a unique energy that comes off as sultry and captivating. To put it differently it is a different kind of soul food! Kontrol has been privileged enough to receive snippets of this guaranteed hit and I personally could not wait for its debut on March18th. Although each song is, as aforementioned, awesome; it is “Broken Heart” that warms my heart. Anyone who has ever unwillingly gone through a break up can relate to it. Some might call it a tearjerker. For something a bit more upbeat, “Feel Good,” is your jam of choice. It is reminiscent of a sultry and slower version of Pharell’s “Happy.”  Nevertheless, anyone looking for these songs to sound more like Floetry will be sorely disappointed. “The Rise of The Phoenix” has its own unique sound, truly conveying Floacist’s unique style and energy. Remember Floetry was a duo and had Marsha Ambrosius’ vocals as an added bonus. Trust and believe, you will not miss them. So when you are need of something less than cookie cutter and Hollywood, check out this amazing album. You might find your own phoenix rising!
