Earlier this week Washington Wizards center, Jason Collins, made headlines as the first NBA athlete to announce that he is gay. Surely, the sports industry is not the first place any man would be eager to make such an announcement – given its machismo populous. Collins had to know there was going to be some backlash from the not so socially progressive members in the league but former “Basketball Wives” star, Eric Williams, took his hate to another level … on Twitter!
Williams blasted Collins through a series of tweets for coming out accusing the Wizards center of “capitalizing off sin.”
We’re trying to figure out why this is such a hot button issue for a RETIRED NBA baller anyway! Why not applaud this man for his courage and keep moving like real team players do it? Williams needs to take a silent seat as per usual but perhaps we shouldn’t expect much from the man that doused his wife with vodka on national television.
