“Get in Formation!” Beyonce Demands Action in The Wake of Police Shootings!

These times we live in are as treacherous as ever, especially if you are an African-American and having run-in with the police. As you know, in this week alone two men, Alton Sterling, and Philando Castille, were killed on camera by officers, and another was recently found hanging in Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta. Naturally, the Black community is in an uproar and this time Beyonce is in the mix–and militant!

Beyonce posted the following on her site:

2Q

The website went on to say the following:

The site continues,

We all have the power to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must use our voices to contact the politicians and legislators in our districts and demand social and judicial changes.

To voice protest for Philando Castile, click here.

Beyonce has become increasingly militant since the death of Trayvon Martin in 2014. We are more than glad to a celebrity, and more importantly, a Black Woman with a powerful platform speaking out and standing up for her people. Truly, we are now card carrying members of The BeyHive and the Formation Movement!. Kudos, Bey, kudos!

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, where it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -Michael Jonvier
