If you want bbq that’ll make you leave your pit of preference of over 10 years, you want Hattie Marie’s!
In a recent interview leading up to our indulgent rendezvous with this succulent, Texas style cuisine we learned exactly what Hattie Marie’s is all about. Comming from a extensive lineage of cooks with successful restarants and bakeries, Owner Will knows what works in this industry as well as many other industries! We were intrigued to learn that the cuisine offered at Hattie Marie’s is not your typical GRILLED barbecue, the food there is slowly smoked to perfection for twelve to fourteen hours before it comes to the table. Our team literally had to deliberate amongst ourselves to choose a top three items we loved at Hattie Marie’s! I mean they had everything from the famous Texas Brisket, to ribs, to barbecue wings, fried, catfish, fried shrimp, and lets not get started on the sides! Just know the sides were good enough to indulge in as an entree alone, but dont cheat yourself — you’ve gotta see what that “smoked life” is about as well!
Coming in at our top 3 were the Ribs, fried shrimp, ad the Mac n Cheese. This cuisine is something that not only attracts locals, but people fly in and come straight from the airport with luggaages, and after our experience, the Kontrol Magazine team definitely understands the urgency! There’s also alot Hattie Marie’s does behind the scenes in terms of giving back. They regularly work with community organanizations in the Atlanta area such as Christian City, make daily contributions to feeding the homeless. They truly do offer feel good food and reach the hearts, and tummies of the masses.
Aside from the AMAZING food quality and selection, they have a very nice, cozy, family feel. They had something to accomodate a wide range of preferences, with our staff being a blend of open preference, vegetarian, and pescatarian — I must say everyone left stuffed and overly satisfied. Hattie Maries has a nicely sized dining room for you and friends or family to sit and grab a bite as well as a very cozy dining section that offers a private dining experience for larger groups, events, and celebrity guest to have a comfortable space uninterrupted, because trust me — Once you start, you barely want to stop to catch a breath! Expansion by way of franchising is definitely on the horizon for Hattie Marie’s as they have 3 new locations in the Atlanta area underway , as well as a location in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Area. Make sure you guys check Hattie Marie’s out and keep in mind if you’re looking for something specific, Fridays and Saturdays are the special days to catch the infamous, meaty, beef DINO ribs, and Thursdays are the days to catch their Gumbo!
