Cleansing your scalp while wearing a protective style is so imperative.
When your scalp is clean; your hair grows!
Crochet braids, box braids, twist etc are all super cute and easy styles!
However, within a couple of months (or weeks depending on how fast your hair grows) your hair will begin to look rough (which some ladies enjoy this look) and your new growth will become obvious!
If after the new growth appears and you choose to keep rocking your style, use that as a clear sign to go ahead and begin cleansing your scalp (before the new growth is imperative as well).
As your hair grows within the braid or twist you want to keep your hair follicles as clean as possible to continue promoting healthy hair growth.
Take the pressure off, cleansing your scalp is very easy!
Quick + Easy Steps to Cleansing Your Scalp
- Purchase a spray bottle (dollar tree) to easily access your scalp
- Grab your favorite Shampoo + Water (a little vinegar- optional)
- Separate your hair and spray
- Fill a separate bottle with warm water to rinse
- Condition (optional)
- Air dry or blow dry (optional)
- Moisturize
Repeat these steps as often as you need to.
SN: If you prefer to shampoo and condition your hair while in the shower.. please do so..by all means necessary!
Not only does keeping your hair clean while wearing a protective style promote growth but it also helps to avoid walking around with stinky hair. Nobody wants that!
