All rumors can cease! Frida Giannini, the creative director of the Italian Fashion House Gucci, and CEO Patrizio di Marco will step down at the beginning of 2015. Marco Bizzarri will take Di Marco’s place as CEO. A new creative director has not yet been announced.
In recent years, Gucci’s sales have declined. These past months Gucci’s sales have dropped by 3.5 percent. Kering, the luxury group that Gucci is under announced the stepping down of Gucci’s CEO and creative director. Kering is the third largest luxury brand in the world.
On Kering’s website they did remind people of the good that the two have done for the company so, there are no hard feelings.
Giannini will leave February 2015 after she presents her 2015 Fall/Winter women wear collection at the Milan Fashion Week. Di Marco’s duties as CEO will be terminated on January 1st.
Di Marco was the CEO of Gucci for six years and Giannini for twelve years. Outside of the workplace, Giannini and Di Marco are a couple romantically and have a daughter together.
Time to keep a close eye on Gucci in the upcoming year.
