Janelle Monae, whose mission since her youth has always been to empower women and to promote self-confidence now has collaborated with Cover Girl to encourage women to express the many sides of their personalities namely, their light side or dark side. The lighter side is all about the combination of earth tones and metallic while the darker side calls for geometric shapes, black and metallic colors. Using the theme and visual effects of the new movie, “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” Pat McGrath, global creative design director and makeup legend for Cover Girl, composed seven creative make up looks that can be recreated using the “Resistance Pilot” eye shadow color pallets. In addition to eye shadows, lipsticks, nail polish, and mascara lines were released to complete the entire look.
