Jennifer Aniston returns to the small screen with an Apple TV show

Apple’s 2019 keynote event brought many exciting announcements, but TV fans are going to be most thrilled to hear that Jennifer Aniston is making a comeback to small screen. After years of rejecting TV roles, Aniston will star in the upcomingThe Morning Showalongside Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell.

If you are planning to follow the Morning Show, which debuts in November, it is worthwhile to note that Apple TV is subject to content licensing, just like any other video on demand platform. If the Morning Show isn’t available in your country, however, you can still access it through an Apple TV VPN.

What is Apple TV?

Apple TV is Apple’s streaming media player, which enables users to watch videos, play games, and listen to music from the internet on their TV. To use it, all you need to do is connect the gadget to your TV with an HDMI cable and use the 3-button remote to log into HBO, Netflix, iTunes, NBA.com, Disney Channel, Hulu Plus, MLS Live, YouTube, Wall Street Journal, and a host of other services.

Apple TV is one of the newest additions to Apple’s long list of products, with the tech giant pulling all the stops to push it to the level of the company’s other more popular products and services. The company, in its recent fall hardware event, announced that Apple TV Plus will now cost two dollars less than Disney+ at $4.99 per month and that all new Apple products – from iPhones to iPads through to laptops and desktops – will come with a free one-year Apple TV Plus subscription.

Important announcements at Keynote September, 2019

Bigger news from the event included a switch for the upgraded seventh-gen iPad, from the 9.7-inch display to a new 10.2-inch display as well as the introduction of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. Both phones’ main selling point is an unprecedented three-camera system, which, according to Apple, can shoot in 4K resolution. The Apple Watch Series 5 will also now come with an always-on display, such that the light only dims when the watch is not in use. This means that all the visuals will be visible on the display at all times. Prior to the upgrade, users would get limited visuals on their screen and had to ‘wake’ the watch up to view all features.

What is the Morning Show about?

While the new iPhones have been the main subject of discussion following the event, TV buffs are more excited about the Apple TV and Morning Show news. Jennifer Aniston will be back on the small screen for a major role for the first time since 2004 whenFriends ended, and that, to most of her fans, is nothing to sniff at.

The show is about a fictional news show – the Morning Show – hosted by Alex Levy (Aniston) and Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) and which starts with the latter receiving his cards for apparent sexual misconduct. The official trailer hints that the show will revolve around cable news infighting. Aniston, in her comprehensive interview with The New York Times, revealed that her role will encompass a great deal of intense modern-day topics, from power struggle, children, and guilt, to being a woman in the showbiz and going through a highly publicized divorce.

What other show are coming to Apple TV?

There is a host of other shows that will come out at around the same time the Morning Show will debut on Apple TV. One of them is Jackson Momoa’s much-awaited See, which is set several hundred years in the future, where a fast-spreading virus has done away with the bulk of the human species and rendered the remaining population blind. Another highly-rated fictional series – For All Mankind – which imagines the future with the space program still at the top of America’s long-term dreams, will also be coming to Apple TV this fall. Others include Snoopy in Space from DHX Media and Peanuts Worldwide; Helpsters, from the creators of Sesame Street; Ghostwriter; The Elephant Queen; Little America, Truth be Told, and Oprah Winfrey.

While Apple TV may currently not be on the same level as Apple Pay, iCloud, Apple Music and other older services, it is definitely a thing of the future with Apple’s focus on it showing no signs of slowing down. The gadget gives you access to hundreds of channels and shows and brings great TV freedom and power into your hands. You can now change channels on the TV right from your phone. The set-top box sure comes with a remote, but you may never get to use it if you have an iPad or an iPhone.

Apple TV has been by experts as a link between your phone and the TV, in that everything you can stream on your phone can be viewed on the television set on the wall.
