Last night Kontrol Magazine attended the grand opening of the wonderful and must go to retail store, Johnny Was. In my opinion the store is to die for especially if you have a free spirit and love bohemian style.
I originally heard of the store when I use to live in Los Angeles, Ca at The Grove right off of a Melrose and now they are here in Atlanta, Phipps Plaza to be exact. The event was amazing and was filled with great food, wine, and fabulous clothing. The event was sponsored by the yummy Sprinkles and Davio’S, both delicious by the way
Once arriving I spoke with the Executive Creative Director, who is a very open and fun-loving woman who loves what she is involved in. After both being excited that we are from LA, we discussed how she travels to different Johnny Was stores to prep, plan, create, and manage events such as this one. Store Manager, Jennifer Milliner was more than perfect when interacting with everyone. I absolutely love her!
The store as I stated screams bohemian style, free spirit, and is more than perfect for the spring/summer season. I am super excited to see what is in store for the fall/winter. Hopefully a lot of Kimonos and linen pants remain.
Before I left the event I spoke with one of the stylist at the store, Dameon who is stylish, down to earth, and a true sweet heart. He mentioned wanting the many fashionistas who shop at Johnny Was to gain a since of style identity while remaining true to themselves. With that being said he mentions three words to describe the boutique: bohemian, worldly, and unique. Before leaving he told me some trends they continue to keep are velvet, skill, and definitely robes.
I had an amazing time and look forward to shopping and catching up with the staff at Johnny Was in the Phipps Plaza. Ladies make sure to check this boutique out when you’re in Phipps, I promise you will NOT regret it.
