R&B heartthrob Justin Bieber was in court yesterday for his assault and careless driving charges he picked up back in Ontario in August of last year. Bieber pleaded guilty to the charges.
Bieber caught the charges during a vacation with his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez in Ontario. The Canadian native got into a minor accident with an ATV and a minivan of his worst enemies: the paparazzi. Not too long after the incident, Bieber hit Twitter hinting that the situation was similar to the one that caused Princess Diana her life.
“There should be laws against what I just experienced. We should have learned from the death of Princess Diana…”- @justinbieber
Bieber was not in court physically, but virtually through a video link according CTV News. Bieber made no comments when granted the opportunity by the Judge to do so and accepted his $750 fine which came with the plea deal. Bieber’s lawyer commented about the incident. “He came over to the side of the vehicle where one of the photographers was holding a large camera,” the singer’s lawyer said of the reason for the assault charge. “There was some physical contact…it was described that Mr. Bieber was swinging at him, grabbing at the camera, that could have been three times at the most.”
Well that seemed painless. The perks of being a celebrity.
