Can we not deny that last week was literally Yeezy week instead of Fashion week? Kanye West premiered his highly anticipated clothing line with Adidas and released his even more highly anticipated Yeezy Boost kicks. On top of all that, the man who calls himself “Yeezus”, blessed the stage in Manhattan after his fashion show to put on an epic performance with guest appearances from Travis $cott, Big Sean, and 2 Chainz. So what’s next for Mr. West? Well, a release date for his debut collection would be nice, right?
Kanye West spoke with Style.com about his collection and when we can expect it to arrive in stores and online. West spoke on what influenced the “Yeezy Season 1” collection:
“You guys know my fucking influences. I’ve got four influences and it’s written all over the face, you know the combination. Just as much as Drake is influenced by Kanye West, you know my fucking influences. You see Raf Simons right there, you see Helmut [Lang], you see [Maison] Margiela, you see Vanessa [Beecroft], you see Katharine Hamnett. It’s blatantly right there. I’m not going to try and act like I was influenced by a fucking dog walking down the street that broke its ankle that I had a heartfelt discussion with. I had a heartfelt discussion with all of these fucking Helmut Lang images that I stared at for so many years. I had a heartfelt discussion with my Tumblr.”
Kanye also gave us an update of when we can expect his line to hit the market. West explains we can expect “some injections within the next three months. The camouflage pieces will be out within the next three months.”
Kanye also says the clothing will not be as cheap as he would like them to be but, eventually the prices will come down for the brand and will be more affordable to the public.
