The next print up is called “Chinoiserie”. Now I know this is probably a commonly foreign word to most of mens vocabulary, but probably not so foreign to their eye! It is a print originally made big in china but has surfaced in the states and gone big also.
What exactly is “Chinoiserie”? you ask.
PRONOUNCED: chi·noi·se·rie
It is a pattern that is influenced by Eastern elements such as dragons, animals and flowers.
Officially defined as: the imitation or evocation of Chinese motifs and techniques in Western art, furniture, and architecture, especially in the 18th century.
