Who says that polka dots can’t be sweet, chic, and sexy at the same time? Well Kerry Washington surprised patrons at a The Limited x Scandal shopping event in a black and white polka dot Dolce & Gabbana dress.  She topped it off with a bold red lips, pumps with polka dot accents, and a playful Roger Vivier purse.

I didn’t always have a love for polka dots.  I actually thought they were a bit obnoxious, but on the right garment I love polka dots and how they can express many moods and looks, while still being bold and sweet at the same time.  Playing with different patterns in your ensemble can give you different looks and comfort in rocking them.

Although, Kerry is rocking head to toe polka dot, the fact that it is naturally broken up because it is a dress and that she kept the look in one color scheme still made this look chic and not all over the place, which is easy to do when mixing and matching and playing with patterns.
