Nene Leakes kept it simple yet fashion forward with her black and white ensemble for the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway Curtain Call event in New York City. She anchored her sheer graphic short sleeved tee with a black leather pencil skirt and pointy heels. I love this take on black and white because of the touches of detail that takes this look from being basic to being visually captivating.
Remember black and white looks do not have to be boring as Nene showed here. You can certainly keep a black and white interesting by incorporating pieces with great detail or in your accessories. Leather skirts are a great way to incorporate nice visual detail to a black and white look, however, a real leather skirt can be extremely expensive. You can get the same look with a faux leather skirt or a leather paneled skirt (has leather in the front and fabric in the back) for a lot less.
