Choker necklaces have been around forever and now our favorite celebrities are wearing statement pieces that are worth thousands. From Beyoncé’s formation Fallon Monarch Jagged Edge Choker to Kim Kardashian’s $10,000 diamond-encrusted “Saint” necklace. This is more than your typical 90’s plastic necklace.

Many sources say, chokers have been apart of history since 1798IMG_5214 during the French Revolution.  If you love the 90s, you would remember the 1990s chokers became fashionable and many celebrities sported them. From the spice girls to your favorites Britney spears and Brandy, they were simple and chic. The most memorable choker from that era wasknown as the the “tattoo” choker. It was made out of plastic and it was a stretch material that was commonly one size fits all.

This is not your typical 99 cent necklace, the chokers today are a combination of textures, patterns, materials and colors. They are made with heavy chains, brass, stripes, jewels and pearls. Dior featured numerous styles and colors as apart of their 2016 collection. Now the bold pieces are in, simple out! Even the “tattoo” chokers add a new flair. Now if you buy them they may come with jewels and/or stones to add some glam to the simple piece.

You don’t have to buy a $10,000 necklace to make a statement! They all come in varies prices and suitable for all ages. If you don’t have one, we suggest you look for one. This would glam up your look!
