Letoya Luckett never ceases to amaze us. Whether she is singing background in a girl group, flying solo with soulful vocals, or gunning for her first Academy Award, it is always good to see and hear from her. Well now our favorite ex-Destiny’s Child member is back with a new movie in tow–Lucky Girl. Letoya is “Selena Jackson” a woman who on the eve of her wedding finds herself questioning is she really ready to get married and over her past love. She seeks answers in her family and friends own experiences, but finds they too have have their own past loves, regrets, and mistakes they have not truly gotten over. It is up to Selena to find if she is ready to move on or truly give her past love, Dillon (Columbus Short), another try.

This movie looks pretty good. The cast is definitely enamoring, chalked full of YBF (Young, Black, and Fabulous) talent. We are especially happy to see Empire’s Serayah McNeil on board. This marks her first movie and the first time we are seeing her outside of her “Tianna” character. Black love is a beautiful thing and hopefully we will get to see a meaningful rendition of it. There is no release date for the film yet, but you can be sure we will keep you posted! Check out the trailer below.
