“Let’s Get Warner Working On It…” “Drive” Director, Nicolas Winding Refn, Wants to Direct “Batgirl” Movie!

When it comes to anything Batman-related right now, the world seems all ears. At a time when everything is so tense and dangerous, people want a superhero as realistic and gritty as the danger their facing. However, people often forget more than just Batman is apart of his amazing mythos. He has some amazing partners and sidekicks in his war against crime–do the names Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl ring a bell?

Well Batgirl is definitely on the mind and heart of “Drive” director, Nicolas Winding Refn, as he wants to direct a film on the legendary super-heroine!

Speaking with Business Insider, Refn said he still hoped to make a superhero movie someday. “God, I would love to make one, it would probably be great fun,” he said. “I just don’t know when it’s going to happen. I very much enjoy my freedom creatively, but I also would love to make one of those big Hollywood films that costs a lot of money and has a lot of people running around with cell phones and all that insanity.” Asked which character he wished to take on, Refn responded, “I want to make Batgirl. Let’s get Warner working on it.”

We would definitely love to see Batgirl–preferably Barbara Gordon’s version–on The Big Screen, but it is unlikely. We are not sure if the “powers that be” would allow Refn to direct any of their films and  unfortunately Batman vs. Superman was not received the way Warner Bros. expected. The studio is quickly working to restructure and reorganize its fledgling DC Cinematic Universe. What do you think? Are we ready for a Batgirl film now? Sound off

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, whe it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -MIKEY
