Louis Vuitton has raised the bar yet again! This weekend they released the much-anticipated cruise 2017 collection at Oscar Niemeyer’s Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday. What was very powerful about this occurrence is that despite the possibility of contracting the Zika virus, the fashion world was not scared to stand up and keep focus declaring war on the decimation of this scare and getting Vuitton victory.
Not only was this collection edgy and daring, while yet having a fun and young spirited silhouette sequence, but the location and venue chosen was by far innovative and out of the box! This is the first time that, what many are describing as a “flying-saucer-shaped” museum hosted a fashion show. The modern structure of this piece of artcetichual art bold casts a reflection in the pool’s base which gives is strategically constructed/designed, according to the late artist Niemeyer, to look like a flower. This has to be one of the longest runways I have seen! I actually like it because it gives the brand more camera time to be seen on runway Photos: www.vougue.com
“This setting inspired me right away,” said artistic director Nicolas Ghesquiere.” In addition, the museum is celebrating its 20-year anniversary and will reopen soon where according to sources four Louis Vuitton-sponsored exhibitions will be shown at the museum this year.
Many A-listers were invited and in attendance to include: Alicia Vikander, Catherine Deneuve, Jaden Smith, Zendaya, Doona Bae, Rainie Yang, Alessandra Ambrosio, Isabeli Fontana and Tao Okamoto who were present on the front row.
One of the the more stylish men in attendance was the always edgy and care free Jaden Smith. He is always simple but impactful and has the charisma to not try to hard and just bring the clothes to life! A simple black and white look, but gives of a modern African like print that is yet stylish and eye catching but not over baring to the eye!
There was a full itinerary of the day which included:
– A party and visiting to some of the top spots in Rio de Janeiro’s.
– After the show guest enjoyed dinner and entertainment at Parque Lage, an expensive mansion which is placed at the foot of the historical Corcovado.
– There was brunch the next morning at a private resident in Santa Teresa.
– Planned activities include a helicopter tour of the city and paddle classes at Praia Vermelha.
