Miami Fashion Network Launches All Inclusive Resource For The Local Fashion Industry

On November 7, 2013, Miami Fashion Network, LLC (MFN) will launch the first-ever online platform of fashion trade resources and an interactive sourcing workshop, built to better service the needs of business owners, as well as emerging and established designers in South Florida. By providing an official industry collective database, MFN will offer added exposure for local trade suppliers to better support each other with fashion-minded consumers. This ideal space of information will highlight everything needed to build a fashion business, from patent attorneys, manufacturers, patternmakers and contractors, to showrooms, photographers, importers/exporters and more.

Founder and creator, Jessica Anderson discovered a demand for attainable information for all within the fashion industry after several years working as a design director for top firms in NY, wardrobe stylist, fashion writer and business owner. These experiences drove Anderson to create a concept where the fashion inspired can research and locate specific trade needs, but also act as a hub for local suppliers to promote services to a more targeted demographic.

 “We want to create an informative network that is easily accessible for everyone in the industry,” explains Anderson. “We are especially dedicated to uniting the community in distinctive ways while featuring the creative talent that exists in South Florida and beyond. Our goal to make Miami a top city for the fashion industry, we encourage businesses in Latin America to have a presence that’s not only convenient to those starting a brand but will also offer further exposure to global markets.”

This all-in-one platform is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese and is easily mapped out by categories of interest for both members and non-members, allowing everyone to utilize the tools necessary.

The Fashion Directory: lists designers, fabric/textile/trim suppliers, sample and showrooms, hair and make-up artists, stylists, patternmakers, fit models, business attorneys, public relations/marketing firms, photographers, schools, retailers, media, event producers, web and graphic designers and more.

The Event Calendar: offers a monthly schedule of fashion-specific events for non-members with access to local trunk shows, fashion charity events, sample sales, product launches and more, while members will have exclusive access to select seminars, market week calendars, fashion shows, media events, private store openings, trade shows and personal appearances.

Newsfeed & Blog: includes video, live twitter feed and newsfeed daily covering trends and current events, behind-the-scenes, business advancements and more.

The Industry Bulletin: for members only, allows for posts to sell or trade industry equipment and access to job listings and design talent.

Sourcing: for members only, allows for one-on-one, personalized service during all facets of their market research including product development, sourcing, branding, trend forecasting, with specific business support relating to contractors, import/exporting domestic and offshore production, etc.

Designer Galleries: for members only, gives designers the opportunity to display an online gallery and feature current collections with inclusion in social media outreach. Also, an opportunity to be selected by a panel for “featured designer of the month” resulting in additional exposure.
