Police have identified one gunman in the shooting at a Gwinnett County hotel that left one woman dead.

Rap group 2-G have been in an ongoing war with the more popular group, The Migos, and after knowing the Migos was hosting a party at a Quality Inn near Gwinnett Place Mall two men walked and opened fire.

“When they came to the party, they brandished firearms and they began to shoot into the crowd of 30 to 40 people, just aimlessly,” said Gwinnett County Police Investigator Deon Washington.

23-year-old Paris Brown was shot and killed. Police say Brown was a fan of the rap group Migos.

“There is an ongoing war between affiliates of 2-G and the more popular rap group referred to as the Migos, which is a rap trio that originated in Gwinnett County,” Inv. Washington said. “We have documented incidences of violence between both 2-G and Migos over the past six months or so”, he went on to say.

A surveillance video from the hotel that shows the two suspects walking up to the party holding handguns and starting to shoot had been released.

22-year-old Corey Marzette has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Murder. Police are still trying to identify the second gunman.

Police say Migos and their fans, who were at the party, have been of little help to the investigation. The only description of the suspects they gave was that one was masked and the other wasn’t.

Police are hoping someone can help identify the second suspect. They are asking anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
