Just a few weeks ago, R&B/Rap artist-producer-songwriter Missy Elliott had the world on the edge of their seat when she took over the Super Bowl halftime show and set the field on fire with her performance. And like the two tweeted about shortly after her performance, music producer Timbaland and Missy are back in the studio together cooking up something sweet for the public! Missy tweeted this picture Monday night of the two in the studio with the caption: “Me & Timbaland bk 2 the drawing board studio dirty beats.”
We are not 100% clear if the two are working on an actual Missy Elliott album or just some features, samples, etc. but, you can’t help but to be excited about the two making magic together again if you’re a 90’s music fan. We haven’t heard a Missy album since her “The Cookbook” album she released back in 2005. So, if this is an album that they are working on, it will be her first in a DECADE! R&B singer D’Angelo came back strong in a big way after being gone for over decade with his “Black Messiah” album. We can expect the same come back for Missy especially with her partner-in-crime behind the boards.
As we wait for word on what the two are cooking up in the studio, we do expect to hear Missy on the music airwave soon as popular DJ Diplo teased a remix to “Take U There” called “Jack U’s” featuring Missy Elliott. I think it is safe to say, brace yourself for Misdemeanor season!
