Like most black women, I honestly can think back on the tragic moments when my hairstyle or the care of my hair went in the wrong direction because my stylist jacked up my hair or didn’t do what I wanted.
Well, Mompreneur, Nastasha Burell didn’t let a bad hair experience deter her during her high school years. She took that as an opportunity to learn more about hair and the overall growth process. As a licensed cosmetologist with over 15 years of experience, she’s the founder of Bloom Elements. Her passion for hair has led her to be able to help other women.
The love of flowers led Nastasha to the very name Bloom Elements. Her ultimate goal with clients and consumers is to plant seeds that will allow their hair to BLOOM. I love that statement about her company; it says a lot about her and the ultimate care and concern she has. With several brands out there, I often feel it’s essential to research not only the product and brand but also the owner. The story behind the brand will often showcase how much love and consideration is put into the brand.
Not too mention, you may find yourself being able to relate to their back story and appreciating the product they’ve created.
Nastasha’s passion and love for the growth of hair are unmatched as she highlights the importance of feeding the body nutritional needs because that plays a huge role in the health of your hair. With her being on a plant-based diet, she can attest to the results and benefits of properly feeding the body.
The more that I interviewed Nastasha, I was curious to know 3 adjectives that a family member would use to describe her.
Natasha: 1. Driven 2. Determined 3. Dependable
I can see why those adjectives were used to describe Natasha, for those are all great adjectives to describe a Mompreneur on a mission to succeed and grow within her company.
Me: What sets you apart from the other brands?
Nastasha: The results and feedback from my customers. They WORK!
Me: If I were to look in your handbag, what would I see?
Nastasha: A lot of gift cards.
Me: What is your style?
Nastasha: You will catch me in Tshirts, Ripped jeans, blazers, and heels. I love my accessories too, I would consider my style to be glitz and glam.
Me: What advice do you have for other mothers that want to become entrepreneurs.
Nastasha: 1. Research 2. Have a support system 3. Get out there and just do it!
I’m glad Nastasha stated #3 because so many women are so talented but afraid to get out there and just make it happen. Ultimately self-sabotaging themselves and never living ou there DREAMS!!!!
Me: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Nastasha: In 5 years, I want to see my brand on a national & global level. I also want to be on shelves in Ulta and Sephora. More importantly, I want to take other women under my wings so I can teach them and guide them for their business endeavors.
Me: What is one thing, you want to tell women?
Nastasha: Be comfortable and confident with your hair!
Nastasha’s positive mindset and eagerness to teach and help others will allow her business to reach great heights!s
I hope you guys follow her, and those dealing with hair growth challenges need to shop with her. Remember, it’s her goal to see your hair BLOSSOM!
