Opulence and elegance are only a few of the words that can be used to describe the fall/winter collection from Negris LeBrum. The Sunset collection as it’s called, is comprised of furs, leather, wool and silk combined over a metallic-gold color palette. Inspired by fashion trends of the 1980’s, the Negris LeBrum Sunset collection is a cool mix of contemporary fashion standards with an 80’s influence. While this may sound familiar to some, the collection is happily contemporary and breathtakingly classic. As someone who advocates for classic and throwback looks, the Sunset collection is among my favorite shows so far this year.
Black is a color that’s been closely associated in the Negris LeBrum brand over the years. With that being said, the Negris LeBrum Sunset line should be a winner among people that have a deep love for wearing all-black and those that have an element of edge to their style. A noted highlight of this season’s collection is the contrast of textures. This is particularly important to remember with monochromatic looks. You never want the overall look or in this case, the collection to look flat (boring). Small details like texture play an important role in helping to create a bigger and much grander look. In many ways this reinforces the old saying–less is more. In the case of the Sunset collection, less is much, much more. One of my favorite elements of the collection is versatility. Because of the color-scheme and standard pieces, this collection can be easily incorporated to your own wardrobe, to create more fabulous looks.
Luxuriously rocker-esque furs, edgy leathers and theatrical but tailored draping create an awesomely rich style that’s elegantly classic and contemporary. Among my favorite looks, is a gold long-sleeve gown. The high neckline and form-fitting piece is exciting because of the many possibilities it leaves the wearer. It can easily be combined with a rocker leather or fur styled jacked. You can top this look off with long black gloves, large cocktail ring and clutch for a darkly glamourous and attention grabbing look.
Bright yellows and metallic gold hues combined with the brand’s signature black aesthetic create a chic and ageless look of sophistication that can be appreciated by everyone regardless of your personal style. The Negris LeBrum fall/winter Sunset collection has me excited about what else the brand has to offer in the seasons to come, and has challenged my personal style ideas for the fall/winter season of 2020.
