Palm Angels, the Italian fashion brand lead by Francesco Ragazzi, made its second showing at NYFW last night. With a celebrity turnout consisting of Vic Mensa, PnB Rock, Kaytranada, Justine Skye, Tinashe and more, this was definitely one of Sunday’s hottest tickets in town.
First, the show started off pitch back. Then, boom, lights started flashing and hard music started pumping throughout Center 415. The runway consisted of a very simple all white aesthetic with the standing glass lights that ran throughout the area. The opening look of Francesco Ragazzi’s Fall 2020 Palm Angels show gave you something different and unique. Normally, the Palm Angel man (or woman) is normally a hippie and/or raver but there was something different about this line. Think Western gunslinger meets Native American chic!
Ragazzi drew from Native America heritage such as tribal print, patterns, and Native America inspired jackets and jeans to present a fresh look the fashion community. For the men, a look featuring a Native American tribe jacket paired with a very unique fedora beaded necklace that added to the look. Some of the looks also had a California aesthetic and a streetwear style as well. The women also had a similar style but with native American inspired dresses with oversized jackets and sweaters that layered on top of the look. Color and attention to detail were two things that stood
out from the all of the looks.
