Kontrol had the pleasure of screening “Peeples” a new comedy from producer Tyler Perry starring Kerry Washington, Craig Robinson and David Alan Grier. The film was written and directed by Tina Gordon Chism of “Drumline” and focuses on the Peeples, a well-off East Coast family celebrating a reunion weekend in the Hamptons. You know a family reunion ain’t a family reunion without some discourse. LOL Wade (Craig Robinson) shows up looking to propose to Grace (Kerry Washington) but things go from bad to worse before it gets any better. You know when Tyler Perry is involved in anything there is a deeper message.
The movie takes a look at how far people, families go to remain a fake Kodak picture that’s in a picture frame before the real picture is placed inside. This was quote a hilarious movie! I give it 4 out of 5 stars only because the beginning was a drag. Make sure you go out and support Tina Gordon Chism when “Peeples’ hit’s the theaters May 10th.
