If you have been on a hunt in the stores for the hottest summer colors, then look no further than Kontrol’s Beauty Blog for the best summer colors to add to your makeup routine. This summer is all about pink, from nail polish to lip gloss you want to be sure you have pink in your collection.
Shauntavia Cheeks Williams of Dallas, TX warns you not to leave home without your Beso Mineral Lipstick and/or SoHo Pink Lip Gloss by Motives for La La. “It’s what everyone is wearing and you don’t want to be left out.”
Now we know that some can tend to overdo it with the pink so please use pink in moderation. It’s like alcohol, too much and you look a hot mess. So balance it with the right foundation, mascara and lip liner.
“Keep your foundation natural and clean with Custom Blend Mineral Powder Foundation,” says Williams. “Finish the look with a little liner and mascara and you are good to go and in the know with pink this summer.”
Other hot colors are greens and corals… but we wouldn’t recommend walking around looking like a sea turtle with the combination of colors. Try painting your nails a nice shade of bright green or coral to see if it’s the color for you. Or just stay true and wear it on your clothes and not your face. Either way PINK is the summer color.
I can never get enough of Pink. I’m going to be on the hunt for Motives by La La.
Im dark skinned and I wear any color I want! The bolder the better 🙂
It’s honestly not my favorite color to wear, but I agree in moderation it can be very striking in a good way.
Pink is my favorite color..i love it!
im definitely going to try this color out.
How does a darker-skinned tone woman wear this color without looking clownish?
You don’t! My skintone doesn’t work well with the fuchsias. I wanted to throat punch my best friend for picking a color similar to the shade above for her wedding in hot sunny Florida. Don’t get me wrong … I love my skintone and I even like it when I get darker during the summer months but I’ll be damned if I didn’t look a watermelon seed inside this effing dress with a pastel pink sash. Y’all can keep all that pink shit. NO THANKS!
So many different pinks; you’ll probably want to look for a bold but not bright shade. Say no to pale and hot, yes to bold/strong sort of undertones of pink. I promise you’ll like!
Hi… I asked celebrity makeup artist Riska Crowder and this is what she says – Dark skinned women believe it or not can wear any bold color. The darker the skin tone the better because darker pigments in the skin brings out the color of the makeup even red hues. Check her out on FB at https://www.facebook.com/RISKATHATLADYLASHCROWDER.
I talked to MUA Riska Crowder and she says dark skinned women believe it or not, can wear any bold color. The darker the skin the better because the darker pigments in the skin bring out the color of the makeup even red hues. So go for it.
