Ralph Cole is on a mission to change lives one cut at a time.
Everyone has a start in life while on the road to something great. Usually the path is laced with many trials. It can be tough to navigate, but once a vision is in place the road seems less troubling. Ralph Cole is a barber on the path to make sure people receive the best, most personal experience.
THE STARTING POINT
After graduating high school, Cole decided to enlist into the United States Army. The Army was a means to serve his country, gain exposure to a different side of life, take care of his family financially. It was there in service that he decided to cut hair for the service members. It was a perfect fit because he needed supplemental income and the soldiers had to meet specific regulations. Prior to actually cutting hair, Cole’s mother ran her own in-home salon, which open the door for him to see the power in haircuts and grooming.
In 2015, Ralph Cole was out of the Army and he also managed to graduate from Olympia Barber School. Although Cole was still happy about being a barber, he was homeless. Despite his circumstance, cutting hair was still important. With everything going on in his life, being a barber was still able to bring him some joy and the clients were able to be transformed by the experience of getting a haircut.
Passion and persistence have paid off for Cole. He has been able to with stand his set back and prosper. Currently, he is working on becoming an educator in the profession in order to educate others that want to become barbers too. Too often Cole stated that some do not treat the profession and/or clients in the best way. Who better to inspire future barbers than someone who wants to get everyone in his chair a stellar experience?
