Trending right now on social media, black congressional Staffers have walked out of their jobs in protest over the police killings.
This afternoon more than 150 staffers walked out the House of Representatives with their hands up (representing the iconic “hands up, don’t shoot gesture) signifying solidarity with the people from Ferguson, Missouri and all over the country. One of the people that were apart of this protest was Civil Rights Leader, Rep. John Lewis.
Black democrats and republicans peacefully gathered in silence and had prayer.
A similar gathering was held last year where approximately 200 staffers gathered at the U.S Capitol in protest of the Trayvon Martin case.
