Not only did our favorite bad girl Rihanna grace the stage of ‘Good Morning America’ with a cute ensemble two weeks ago, but she also to a stance on a serious issue going on in the world. Rihanna discussed with correspondent Robin Roberts about AIDS and HIV awareness.
Rihanna reveal that 100 percent of her MAC Viva La Glam earnings is going to the MAC AIDS fund. Her goal is to raise at least 40 million dollars by doing this. She also hopes by doing this she is able to impact the youth by making them aware of this epidemic.
“The youth is a little more naive to the realities of the disease and how big it really is, how much of an epidemic it really amongst young people specifically, Rihanna said. HIV and AIDS have been around for as long as I’ve been alive and now more than half of the new infections are people under 24 years old and younger. So it’s really scary. It’s around.”
The sad thing is, what she said was very true. Adolescents aren’t being cautious about diseases that can be spread through sex. It’s great that a star like Rihanna is trying to make a difference to reach out to the youth. Way to go Rih!
