For Manolo Blahnik, teaming back up with the Barbadian beauty is no small feat. With two other trend setting collections under their belt this will surely be a slam dunk. Rihanna gave fans a glimpse of the new collection titled ‘So Stoned’ in the bedroom scene of the ‘Wild Thoughts’ video.
The title ‘So Stoned’ is a play on words as this collection incorporates precious stones in it’s design. The collection, which launches on July 6, will be broken up into four different styles with each one featuring a different color stone. There will be the Spice Sandal which comes with red stones, Bajan Princess with blue stones, Purple Chalice with maroon stones and Poison Ivy with green stones, which she chose to wear for Wild Thoughts. The shoes add a touch of sparkle which will be perfect for the summer months.
It seems that Rihanna has found her creative niche when it comes to footwear. Not only has she had major success with Manolo Blahnik, but her ever elusive collection for Puma is a cash cow, always selling out within hours of debuting. Who can blame fans for following any and every trend the pop singer sets. Her past collection with Manolo Blahnik featured thigh high denim boots, which were seen on Jennifer Lopez in her music video for ‘Ain’t Your Mama‘.
As stunning as these shoes are, you may want to save a check or two if these are what you want. The shoes are all priced around $1300 with the exception of the gladiator style worn in the Wild Thoughts video which will set you back about $2,325. If they make you look anywhere near as great as Rihanna, it will be money well spent.
