STAR TREK BEYOND MOVIE REVIEW

Trekkies all over the world have been waiting on the highly anticipated Star Trek sequel, “Star Trek Beyond”, starring Chris Pine (Captain Kirk), and Zachary Quinto (Spock). V-103 hosted an advanced screening in Atlanta on Wednesday, July 20th at Regal Perimeter Point and the theater was filled with Trekkies! The screening started off with a couple of trivia questions in order to hype the Star Trek fans who had been waiting three years for the sequel. Crowd participation was no problem, as V-103 gave out some pretty cool prizes for the fans, as the host was a major Trekkie herself. The screening was shown in 3-D, and had some pretty amazing visuals. Star Trek Beyond was centered around an unexpected attack in outer space, when the crew was attempting to help a member from another species who had lost her ship. Captain Kirk soon realized that his crew was heading into a trap, but it was already too late. This major attack forced the Enterprise to crash, and remaining crew members landed on an unknown planet. Crew members were captured by the infamous Krall, played by (Idris Elba); Krall was an energy sucking creature who believed he had been abandoned by the federation, and he was seeking revenge on all species. Krall used his evil army to capture different species traveling through space, and killed them so that he could use their lives to extend his own; after years, he finally found the Enterprise, which had possession of an ancient artifact that he’d use to destroy the federation.

After the Enterprise was completely destroyed, the movie was set on a mysterious planet, where Captain Kirk and his crew had to defeat the evil alien race, before they destroyed the federation.

“Star Trek Beyond” is set to release on Friday, June 22nd. The action film did a great justice to the original sci-fi thriller! I encourage everyone to go out and watch it.

RIP Anton Yelchin (Chekov)
