And that ladies and gents is what you call a weight loss affirmation. Daily affirmations could be the succor you need on your weight loss journey. An affirmation is the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed. Affirmations offer emotional support or encouragement. You are basically talking to yourself but for a good reason. It may sound corny to stand in the mirror telling yourself positive messages but before you dismiss the idea think about all of the times you have told yourself negative things. “OMG I wish I looked like this.. I wish I looked like that.” “I hate this..I hate that.” Instead of focusing on your flaws focus on what you love about yourself and celebrate your body. Body image is real and a negative body image can be detrimental to your mind and weight loss success. Turn the “I hate _.” to “I love _.” and make healthy efforts to exercise and eat well for positive weight loss results.

You’ve lost weight so now what? You keep it up. You don’t fall back into old habits and ways of thinking. Affirmations can be used as friendly reminders that you are a badass. You have to remind yourself of your strength and who you are. Sometimes after weight loss you can develop negative body images. I personally lost over 150 lbs and gained a load of self-doubt. I had to learn how to love my new body and appreciate everything about me. You have to do it too. We have to stay positive on our journey to maintain our desired weight and a healthy mind. You can do it! Stay positive!
