When it comes to films nowadays so few are inspiring are worthwhile. Perhaps the film industry finally realizes that and decided to “revive” and old Rocky fan favorite in Creed. As you know the film stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, the youngest and illegitimate son of Apollo Creed. Born after his father’s death he was raised in foster care until being taken in by Apollo’s widow, Mary Anne (Felicia Rashad). Although she tries to steer him away from the world of boxing, his desire to follow his father’s footsteps are great. Against his adoptive mother’s wishes he moves from Los Angeles to Philadelphia to pursue his dreams. However, he soon realizes he will need some special and major help to make it in the professional titles and seeks out his unknowing “uncle,” Rocky Balboa! This film will make you laugh, cry, and most of inspire you. You will even find that little voice inside asking, “What are you fighting for?”
Michael B. Jordan is an amazing actor. He more than made this movie, he has possibly revived the Rocky Franchise. Having Sylvester Stallone also star in the film and have Rocky train him sort of passed the torch of greatness to him by training him. In a way it makes his character, Adonis, the child of Apollo and Creed, the two greatest fictional boxers ever. This is undoubtedly the quintessential Thanksgiving movie for 2015. I am going to see it again! You be sure you catch it in theaters nationwide beginning Thanksgiving day! “Gobble, gobble!”
