The star of HBO’s “Black Lady Sketch Show” shares her beauty secrets on and off set.
We got a chance to speak with the ever so talented Gabrielle Dennis about her beauty secrets during and in between filming. After catching up with this beautifully funny actress this past week, we have fallen in love with her.
You may have seen her on BET’s “The Game” or Netflix’s Marvel Series, “Luke Cage”. We are currently obsessing over her work as one of the stars of HBO’s new comedy sketch show, “A Black Lady Sketch Show”. As she shares the spotlight with some amazing women like Issa Rae (“Insecure”) & Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis takes on several different characters, making us laugh through each persona. The show has recently been renewed for a second season, and we must say that we cannot be any happier.
While on set, Gabrielle says that she usually trusts the make up artist to do his/her job. She had this to say about being on set and the process of being beautified. “One thing I’ve learned being in this industry, let people do the job they are paid to do. No one on production is trying to tell me how to recite lines, so I’d be out of my league trying to tell a MUA how the do their job.” She also shared with us that the one product she recently discovered; under-eye concealer. It helps with dark spots under the eye, and helps to even out the tones around the eye as well.
While offset, she sticks to the products she knows. From her morning facial regiment, to her day to day makeup routine, Gabrielle keeps it simply beautiful. “On my face, I use Cetaphil. It’s not harsh on the skin, and keeps my face moisturized and clean of the extra oils.” She also uses vitamin E oil with her moisturizer, to ensure a moist, balanced face as it also serves as a toner. When it comes to makeup, she’s fan of brands like Revlon & Maybelline.
From the movie and TV sets, to the comfort of her own home, Gabrielle is exquisitely beautiful inside and out. For more information on her or the cast of “A Black Lady Sketch Show”, feel free to visit HBO.com.
