The Neverending Trend: Crop Tops

For many decades the crop top has been in and out of the fashion cycle, and it doesn’t seem to be going any where any time soon. Summer is nearly here and crop tops that weren’t already out are making their grand entrance. We live by a rule or standard that everyone can’t wear a crop top, but truthful as long as you know to rock it for your body… Anybody can wear a crop top! Contrary to popular opinion, crop tops are not just made for women with tiny waists, slender frames, and otherwise enviable body types. As a matter of fact, they’re one of the most flattering things any woman can wear, from the skinniest of minis to plus-size beauties.Just in time for this up and coming summer I’ll tell you the secrets of wearing crop tops for different body shapes to make your experience wearing one better than ever.


1. Pear – Make sure the crop top hits right at the vertical center of your rib cage, which is the thinnest part of every woman’s body. Then pair it with a high-waist skirt that fits you perfectly.


2. Curvy – Try a cropper that’s a little bit longer, hitting right at your natural waist. Pair it with a pencil skirt that also hits right at your natural waist; all your curves above and below that central point will be highlighted, and your waist will, by comparison, look super tiny.


3. Plus-sized – Choose a top that fits you appropriately—in other words, not too tight, and certainly not too lose—and then pair it with pieces that maximize proportions to truly highlight your assets. For fuller ladies, a long-sleeved crop top with a full skirt is a knock-out combination.


4. Petite – Try a more boxy cut crop top.


5.Rectangle – Steer clear of short line crop tops. Try longer and looser tops.


6. Long and lean – Your best bet is a crop top that falls at your natural waist and a waist that hits slightly below. Showing about three to four inches of skin at your mid-section will just lengthen you that much more, and highlight your thin frame.


7. Inverted triangle – If your shoulders are a wee bit more broad than your hips, then a halter crop top is a great way for you to go. It minimizes the width of your chest and torso, while still highlighting your waist. Pair it with a full skirt to amplify your hips for maximum feminine effect.
