Top 5 NYFW Shows We Can’t Wait to See

With New York Fashion Week quickly approaching, everyone is deciding which shows they’re going to attend. Many designers show during this week including international brands and new up-and-coming talents. It’s the perfect way to debut a collection to the international community. However, we’ve picked out 5 designers whose shows are going to be at the top of our list.

NYFW

Tom Ford

First up is American designer Tom Ford, who will premiere his latest collection opening night at 8 PM. Betting on Tom is like betting on a sure thing. His designs are modern and very elegant. Though he designs for men and women, his men’s collections are considered to be more personal. Tom uses himself as the inspiration and fit-model for all of his men’s clothing. He designs for the modern man who’s intelligent, business minded, likes opulence, and loves to travel. And all of these notions are translated perfectly into his women’s collections.

NYFW

Calvin Klein

Though Calvin Klein has been around way long, it’s another iconic brand, internationally known American brand. However, CK actually started off designing womenswear clothing and became responsible for changing the way that men viewed their underwear choices. Today, the brand lives in between high fashion and casual wear. Even though it produces full collections for both men and women, their most coveted items are their signature outerwear pieces, in addition to formal wear. CK will have its runway show during NYFW on Thursday, September 7 at 8 PM.

NYFW

Philipp Plein

In recent years, Philipp Plein has become a “Rockstar designer”, creating very dynamic clothing. However, his shows get way more attention than his actual clothing. Philipp’s shows are very over the top, often with celebrities walking the runway and packing out the front row. Not too long ago, the controversy surrounding his brand was the fact that one of PResident Trump’s daughters attended his show, but no one wanted to sit by her. He’s also gotten a lot of attention for incorporating Jeremy Meeks, the inmate whose mugshot went viral, into his shows.

Philipp’s runway show will take place on Saturday, September 9th at 9 PM. This is a show that no one will want to miss because there’s sure to be some sort of “wow factor.”

NYFW

Public School NYC

School is back in session and the “cool kids” are ready to play. Public School NYC will debut its collection on Sunday, September 10 at 11 AM. Designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have done an excellent job of taking new your style and packaging it for the international community. Their collections are made up of tailored urban streetwear. Not to mention, most of their designs are made for those who love basic black and neutral colors like white and grey.

NYFW

Laquan Smith

Laquan Smith went from being “THE” up-and-coming designer in New York City to having an international luxury design company.  The young fashion mogul is known for designing statement pieces with high fashion editorial appeal. He has created clothing with imagination and consistently aims for the “wow factor.” Commanding respect through his artistry, Laquan’s designs have peaked the interest of many celebrities like Rihanna and Ariana Grande. His show will take place on Sunday, September 10 at noon.
