TV One continues to produce some amazing programs on its network, proving that African-American programming is lucrative and in high demand! With original series like UnSung, Ricky Smiley For Real, and more made for television movies its viewership continues to increase. As you know, recently the network aired Bad Dad Rehaba TV movie centering on four deadbeat dads each struggling to be better men and even better fathers!

The movie was well received by audiences, mainly because of the relatable material and the positive images of Black brotherhood it promoted. At the advanced screening for the film in Atlanta, Roger Bobb and Malik Yoba encouraged the audience to support the film and that they hoped to make it into a series. Well we have good news! Sources close to Bobbcat Films state that TV One has greenlit the movie for a series!

We definitely would prefer to see Robert Ri’Chard, Rob Riley, Wesley Jonathan, and Rick Gonzalez reprise their roles, but most likely they have other projects to tend to. Rob in particular has more movies to film and promote, and is already a regular cast member on VH-1’s Hit The Floor. Still, with the way the movie ended there is definitely room for a new batch of dads. You can be sure we will keep you posted on the series as more news becomes available!

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, where it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -Michael Jonvier
