The world is still in a great deal of disbelief of the news that broke on Sunday morning. ESPN journalist Stuart Scott passed away on his third battle of cancer and almost everybody in the sports world and all over were deeply sadden. Every sports figure, fellow journalist, family and friends, and fans of his work on ESPN’s Sports Center gave their condolences and shared their stories about the man that everybody calls an innovator in sports broadcasting and a kind-hearted and fun-loving guy.
In last night’s game, the University of North Carolina, Stuart Scott’s alma mater, honored Stu in a special way. The Tar Heels basketball team wore jersey with a black patch on them that said “STU” in Carolina Blue.
The student section also honored their fellow fallen Tar Heel. During a moment of silence for Stuart Scott, the student section of UNC held up “STU” signs.
Stuart Scott attended the University of North Carolina where he participated in many different clubs. Scott was a member of the Tar Heel football team where he played wide receiver and defensive back and he also was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Scott graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1987 with a B.A in Communications.
