How does one go from being a Spice Girl to a respected designer in New York Fashion Week? The New York Times got a good grasp of her strategy for presenting her Spring/Summer 2014 collection during fashion week, which runs September 5-12. Victoria Beckham, the self-proclaimed “working mum” of four, has had all eyes on her since she did her thing at her first runway show in 2008.
This time around she wants more than a presence and respect in the game, she wants to reign supreme! According to the publication, Beckham stated “I absolutely want an empire.” The woman has had the world on tilt since giving us the infamous ‘Victoria Beckham bob’ that had everybody running to their stylist to emulate her ferociously chic look.
Her book That Extra Half an Inch is dedicated to her love affair with fashion giving pointers on necessary pieces and how to wear them. Expect to see everything inspired by her style from feminine dresses to masculine trending coats and pants. The premiere label Victoria Beckham will also include slender tailored looks in denim with the extras of sunglasses and handbags. Being the thinker who sees the big picture, she has also added Victoria, a colorful line with a lower price point appealing to a younger market.
