He stars in the newest family comedy, Uncle Drew, hitting theaters June 29th, 2018. He’s in great company withLil Rel Howery, Erica Ash, and NBA legends such as Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, Lisa Leslie, Nate Robinson.
UNCLE DREW is a hilarious family film about an ex basketball player, Dax (Lil Rel), who drained his life savings to enter a team in the Rucker Classic streetball tournament in Harlem. Desperate to win the tournament and the cash prize, Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend UNCLE DREW (NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving) and convinces him to return to the court one more time. The two men embark on a road trip to round up Drew’s old basketball squad (Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie) and prove that a group of septuagenarians can still win the big one.
UNCLE DREW is new to me but not new to fans of Pepsi. In May 2012, Pepsi released the 1st chapter of what would become 5 installments of the fan-favorite viral episodic series that is UNCLE DREW. The episodic franchise has amassed over 95 million views since inception.
