Rapper Wale not only dropped a hot album today entitled “The Album About Nothing”, but he also gave us a visual for one of his tracks off of the album on the eve of. Yesterday, Wale premiered the video for “The White Shoes”.
Wale is going back to his Seinfeld-inspired theme for this album that his fans know him for so well. After hearing the track The White Shoes, I can definitely see the original Wale fans rekindling that flame that made them fall in love with the D.C emcee’s music early in his career.
The video was shot in an urban area of Wale’s hometown. The video is surrounded around a boy hustling to make enough money to update his worn out white sneakers that everyone can’t help but to notice and even some bully him about. The young boy finally bust enough tables and sweeps up enough hair at the barbershop to get those new Air Jordans and it seems like the grey skies over his head turn into colorful rainbows as he floats down the street in his brand new kicks.
But with every come-up, comes a few haters waiting to break you down. The boy is eventually robbed of his joy by the same guys who bullied him in the first place about his old white sneakers.
You can catch the very heart-felt video from Wale below and let us know what you think about the track and the visual for the song.
