13-year-old Willow Smith is the epitome of style icon in training, though she is already a teen fashion princess to most. With time, there is no doubt that Willow will graduate to Queen status. In an editorial for V Magazine shot by Karl Lagerfeld, THE Karl Lagerfeld, the teenager reminded us that she is not only a mini fashionista, but she is also very talented, and her intelligence goes way beyond her young age. When your parents are Hollywood royalty you have no choice to be anything other than flat out amazing! What makes Willow even more admirable is that even though she was born into wealth and has a famous brother, she seems to be so humble and personable.
When asked why she turned down the role of Annie in her father’s production, Willow responded to V saying, “I just wanted to chill, and be at home, and decompress, and just find out what I’m gonna do and where I stand on this planet, with the little tiny place we have,” which is quite mature of her. She made a conscious decision not to do something because she understood that it would not have been done wholeheartedly. How old is she again? At thirteen most of our critical thinking skills were clouded by emotion. Not Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith’s daughter. So, how does Willow approach dressing for her now famous personal style? She says, “I kind of just put on whatever feels right. Sometimes that’s Converse and a T-shirt, sometimes it’s Givenchy heels and leather pants.” Spoken like a true fashion rock star right? Indeed.
It must be pretty sweet to get photographed by one of fashion’s biggest icons. Lagerfeld is a famed designer, current creative director of Chanel, Fendi, and his name sake line, Karl Lagerfeld and a notable photographer. Too much genius on one photo set. While dressed in Chanel, Givenchy, Desquared, and a long list of other top designers, Willow Smith drew us in once again. Her future is definitely bright. We will continue to watch her grow with the rest of the world. Willow is clearly a Kontrol Girl!
