This week I had the pleasure to sit with Jaye Price the manager and wine educator for the Wine Shoe Atlanta. What exactly is a Wine Shoe you ask, it’s an intimate shop in the Castleberry Hill area of Atlanta that houses wines from all over the world. Not only do they sell wine but they take the time to educate you on how your pallet works and what to look for in a superior wine. Some sound advice Jaye gives is not to be concerned with the grape or the house the wine comes from. As a wine drinker your focus should be on the aspect of taste… just because the bottles price point may be lower than others does not mean you’re not enjoying a quality wine. For women trying to find her niche he advises drink what you like and be comfortable enough to try that taste from different regions. From our sit down I a asked him for the top three sweet wines to try and the top three dry.
The Wine Shoe Atlanta is the perfect spot to try something new and exciting with your girl friends or a date.I personally am a fan of how quaint the venue is and how lovely the owner is. The Wine Shoe Atlanta down in the Castleberry Hill area is chic and definitely sophisticated. Make sure you check them out today. And here are a few of the Wines they carry below
-TOP THREE SWEET-
- Pineau des Charentes- This is a fortified wine made with a blend of lightly fermented grape musk and cognac. This wine can be served in smaller portions due to the higher alcohol content.
Price point $29.99
- Straw Wine- Recioto (pronounced rich –e- oto ) is a sparkling wine and is something that all Moscato drinkers will enjoy. The grape used is for this wine is in raisin form to increase sweetness in the taste.
Price Point $24.99
- Sangue De Giuda- Which in translation means the blood of Judas. If you are a dessert lover this is a red wine that is low in alcohol but sweet in taste so second or thirds will only make it better.
