Working it in Everyday Leather

I can wear leather everyday for Fall…if it is comfortable.  I am a fan of taking key leather pieces and making them easy to style for everyday.  I have several faux leather pieces and I like to mix and match them with other textures to make them a bit more wearable for everyday; knowing that I can dress up my favorite leather garment depending on the occasion.

The look below is one of my favorite ways of rocking the leather trend.  This faux leather skirt is super adorable and versatile (y’all know I am a stickler for versatility).  I decided to wear it with one of my favorite thrift finds from Goodwill: my Brooks Brothers cable knit sweater.  To round out the look and add some detail, I added houndstooth tights and black chunky heeled sandals that I was gifted.  Yes, you can most certainly wear your favorite strappy sandals this Fall with tights or if you are bold with socks.  If you want to rock this look, you have to make sure that your tights match your sandal color or is in a stark contrasting color.  If you guys want a post on how to rock this trend the right way, let me know!

The key to being able to wear leather everyday is to pair it with something that is more casual and demure.  This will help to balance out the leather, as we all know that leather is a statement piece of its own.  Leigh-Anne Pinnock (right) rocked her leather skirt with a simple knit shirt making her skirt the ‘featured’ piece.

How are you making your favorite leather pieces wearable for everyday this Fall?

Androgynous anchored with class and splashes of trendy is how I would describe my style with my bottom line style category being boho-chic. I love to challenge myself with new experiences and surrounding myself with positivity. Detroit raised me and Atlanta is grooming me. Sit back and enjoy the ride...I promise you this will be good. http://pinkklipstick.com
